MRC INFOLETTER – Feb 2016

The Montreal Rowing Club (MRC) sends you a short newsletter that gives you a glance at the different activities and news of the club.

1- A Winter rowing camp for the MRC team

At the end of february, 8 young athletes aged between 12-20 years old will participate in our winter rowing camp at Miami Beach, Florida. With the help of the “Miami Beach Rowing club”, our athletes will have the chance to develop new abilities in a different environment and train in high class facilities. Staying at a hotel located 5 blocks from the club, they will have the chance to be on the water twice a day, under their head coach supervision: Frank Moortgat. Team buildings activities are also be included into the program.  A parents’ meeting will be held on february 10th, 6h15 pm, at “Centre Claude Robillard”.

Also, fundraising activities will be held during the spring in order to help the juniors fund their 2016 summer regattas.  One of our athletes Cecili Garcia Vasquez has used resourceful ideas in order to be able to pay for her training camp: apart from applying to local grants, working part time while studying, she launched a few days ago her fundraising campaign with “Makeachamp”. You can help her achieve her goal by clicking on the following link et supporting her financially or by sharing it to your group of friends:
