Discover the pleasure of rowing by learning and developing the basic skills and techniques: initiation on ergometer (rowing machine), in the rowing tank and on the water in different boats.
New for 2019
The MRC is proud to offer a second learn to row course for those that have complete the first course. This learn to row is focused on skills development regarding autonomy in a single boat and includes a lesson on how to act if you capsize and how to get back into a boat after capsizing.
The course is offered on Tuesdays from 6 pm to 8 pm for 5 weeks. We also have two groups on Saturdays from 9:45 am to 12:45 pm for 3 weeks.
The skills developement course is offered on Thursdays from 6 pm to 8 pm for 6 weeks.
Able to swim 25 metres
Can easily communicate in either English or French
Prerequisite for the skills development course: Must have completed the first initiation learn to row course
The cost of our courses is available on our online store (see link below). In addition, membership fees to Rowing Canada and the Quebec Rowing Association will apply. For the skills development course, a usage fee for the Parc Jean-Drapeau will apply.
The course cannot be cancelled and will be charged in full (no reimbursement)
Bring comfortable workout clothes (nothing too loose that might get caught in the equipment), an extra pair of socks, some snacks and a water bottle.
